Tactical training is what comes after competence, not instead of it. It assumes you can already handle your firearm safely without thinking about it — because from that point on, the thinking is spent on the problem in front of you.
The academy does not present a tactical course of its own. The tactical training we offer in Cape Town is run by Archangel Protection & Training Group, who present, assess and certify it. We are a partner on it: book through us and we will put you on the list.
If you are not yet competent on the firearm you want to train with, start there — we do present the handgun, rifle and shotgun courses, and the Regulation 21 re-assessment, ourselves.
No. We are a partner on it — Archangel Protection and Training Group present it, assess it and issue the certificate. We take the booking and put you on the list. Everything we do present ourselves is listed on our courses page: handgun, rifle, shotgun, business-purposes training, Regulation 21 and first aid.
Yes. You need to be safe and competent with your firearm before a tactical course is useful, or safe for anyone else on the line. If you are not there yet, start with the basic course for your firearm type — we do present those.
No. Regulation 21 is the annual business-purposes re-assessment, which we present every Thursday. Tactical training is a skills course. Many security officers do both, and they serve different purposes.
