The handgun is the firearm most South Africans own first, and it is the one most people are least prepared for. A pistol is small, quick to point and unforgiving of bad habits — which is exactly why the first day matters.
This course takes you from never having held one to loading, drawing, firing and clearing a stoppage safely, under close instruction. It is assessed against unit standard 119649 — Handgun, and paired with 117705 it is what a private handgun competency is built on.
Pistols and revolvers both. If you already own a handgun, bring it and learn on the firearm you will actually use.

No. We can provide the firearm for the course. Many people train first and buy afterwards, which is the sensible order.
Learn on what you intend to own. If you have not decided, do the course first; a day on the range settles that question faster than any shop can.
Real range time is the point of the day. The classroom part is as short as the law and the assessment allow.
